Our Pet of the Week
"Rusty"

Hello, my name is Rusty

My little boy's name is Rusty. He is 2 years old. He came to us in June 2001. He was no more than 3 -4 weeks old. Apparently his mama must have also had felines herpes and abandoned him. My hubby heard him crying and crying from the car engine, where this little redheaded kitty cat was trying to stay warm. We took him in and fell in love with him. He has all of his shots and is neutered. I have access to all vet records. He has feline herpes. It is chronic but not fatal. It affects his respiratory system when he is feeling stressed. Antibiotics work well. I gave him pieces of lysine tablets for his immune system and pieces of zyrtec tablets which are an antihistamine. When well managed, he is fairly healthy. He ia always very gentle and loving. He is such an innocent boy. Please do let me know if someone wants to care for a very special cat. I am sure some kind of an arrangement can be made.

With Respect & Kindness, Rusty's Mom
